Stories form bridges between people and create memories to cherish. Let’s come together
and celebrate “Stories to Change
the World” Storytelling Day
“Stories to Change the World” Storytelling Day was founded
in the summer of 2010 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, by the International Storytelling
Network (RIC). International Storytelling Network (RIC) is
spread over 46 countries and has more than 1000 storytellers onboard
internationally. 21 June has been
designated as the “Stories to Change the World” Storytelling
Day annually.
Story
Ghar, a house
of stories, has taken this initiative forward in Delhi and eventually in the
rest of the country. Storytelling is an art form that generates
interest in books, reading and creative writing. It helps children to
understand their own heritage and enhance their creative talent.
As part of this initiative, Story Ghar is
organizing a dramatized and rhythmical storytelling event on the Eve of “Stories to Change the World” Storytelling Day (20th
June). The function will be held at Amaltas, India
Habitat Centre, New Delhi for children,
parents, teachers trainers and others interested in stories. Storyteller Jaishree will perform funny,
touching, and odd stories.
The
objective is to showcase the power of this traditional art form which has
traditionally been part of Indian culture. The event will have story
presentation through drama, interactive sessions, singing and music. The event intends to make people aware of this
vibrant art form that not only enhances personality skills but also brings
people, friends, colleagues and family closer.
Entry is free for all.
